Shadows of Light

Now I shall see you with new eyes.

Your beauty shall be – to me – as never before.

A shadow of light cast back – from you – intermingled

with my own curving, shaping – full of grace.

From where we stand – hand in hand

this point in time – shadows combine.

They wax and wane like the gibbous moon.

Our lights are refracting, refracting, refracting colour and shade with equal weight.

And when we part – the shadows remain

sometimes glorious,

sometimes broken,

often invisible,

yet, still golden.
